Dr. Stanley Chien

Dr. Stanley Chien is a professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at IUPUI. He received his BSEE degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1984 and his Ph.D. degree from Purdue University in 1989. His research interests include software engineering for embedded systems, parallel and distributed computing, and robotics. He published 60 refereed journal and conference papers. He has one US patent. He and his research group at IUPUI have developed a distributed system tool that supports dynamic load balancing and fault tolerance of large scale parallel and distributed computing on heterogeneous computers. Dr. Stanley Chien received many government and industry sponsored grants and contracts. He taught object-oriented modeling in UML and autocode generation course at several companies. He also did many consulting work at industry. He is a member of IEEE.

Dr. Chien will be providing a 4-hour Workshop on Object-Oriented Modeling and Code Generation For Embedded Systems using UML.
