Summary: In this tutorial, an increasingly popular software development approach for embedded systems is discussed. This approach integrates the unified modeling language (UML), the object-oriented software development process, automatic code generation, and automatic document generation together. This approach makes the software development more efficient, maintainable, and adaptable to rapid requirement changes. The future direction of this approach will also be discussed. It is assumed that the audience does not have knowledge in this subject so that a general introduction will be given in this tutorial.
